Overview

HEIC Converter is designed with privacy as a core principle. We provide both client-side and server-side conversion options, giving you control over how your images are processed.

Client-Side Conversion (Default & Recommended)

When using client-side conversion (WASM), all image processing happens directly in your browser. Your images never leave your device and are never uploaded to our servers.

Server-Side Conversion (Optional Fallback)

Server-side conversion is available as a fallback for larger files or when client-side conversion is not supported. When using server-side conversion:

• Images are uploaded to our servers temporarily
• Files are automatically deleted after 15 minutes
• No permanent storage of your images
• Conversion logs may be retained for debugging (without image content)

Data Collection

We collect minimal data:

• Usage Analytics: We may use analytics services (like Google Analytics) to understand usage patterns. This includes page views, clicks, and general usage statistics.
• Error Logs: If conversion fails, we may log error information (without image content) to help us improve the service.
• No Personal Data: We do not collect personally identifiable information unless you explicitly provide it (e.g., in support requests).

Cookies

We use minimal cookies for functionality (e.g., language preference) and analytics. We do not use cookies to track your browsing behavior across other sites.

Third-Party Services

Our service may use third-party services for hosting, analytics, and CDN delivery. These services have their own privacy policies. We use:

GDPR Compliance

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights:

• Right to access your data
• Right to rectification

Since we primarily use client-side processing and do not store your images, most of these rights may not apply. However, if you have concerns, please contact us.

Data Retention

• Client-Side: No data retained (everything processed locally)
• Server-Side: Files deleted after 15 minutes automatically
• Logs: Error logs retained for up to 90 days for debugging

Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
